The Best St. Patrick's Day Drinks: How to Make Them & Where to Find Them in Denver

This year, St. Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday! That means that not only are we celebrating St. Paddy's style, but also Sunday-Funday style. I'm not sure how you spend your Sunday-Funday, but mine usually consists of day drinking accompanied by delicious food. If you plan on celebrating the holiday this Sunday, here are some of my favorite Irish-themed drinks guaranteed to make your Sunday-Funday a success. You can mix them up before heading out or find somewhere that serves them! Either way, make sure you plan your ride to and from your party destination. I always take Lyft when I'm drinking. That’s why I’m partnering with No DUI Colorado to help you #goCARless this holiday. Think you’re feeling the Luck O’ The Irish? Head to my Instagram page for a chance to win a $50 Lyft gift card from No DUI Colorado to help you get around safely.

Green Beer

Everyone knows that St. Paddy's Day celebrations pretty much always mean your tongue is going to turn green. Green beer is definitely a favorite, and a classic, drink of choice this holiday. Making green beer at home is simple! All you need is green food coloring, your favorite light beer, and a pint glass. Put one drop of green food coloring into a pint glass and slowly pour your beer into the glass. Not into mixing it yourself? Head to LoDo and stop into the Viewhouse for $4.75 Green Beer, but don't forget to #goCARless!

Irish Slammer

Everyone knows the Irish Slammer is a classic choice on St. Paddy's Day. It's so simple to make and you can usually find specials during the holiday. To make this simple drink at home, you'll need Guinness, Irish whiskey, and Irish cream liqueur. Fill your pint glass with Guinness until it's about halfway full. Then mix Irish whiskey and cream together in a small shot glass. Drop the shot into the beer and ENJOY! Check out Fado Irish Pubs Block Party at Revel Social if you're looking for one when you're out and about. Don’t forget the most important step – leaving your car at home!

Irish Coffee

This is the perfect drink for a Sunday-Funday St. Patrick's Day. For optimum happiness, pair your warm Irish coffee with a doughnut before heading out! You will need a pot of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, whipped cream, and Irish cream to make an Irish coffee. Pour warm coffee into a thick glass or mug, mix in one-part Irish whiskey and 2 parts of Irish cream. Top with whipped cream. If you plan on having Irish coffee with your breakfast on Sunday, make sure you plan a ride afterwards!

No matter what your plans are this St. Patrick's Day, make sure you have fun and be safe! All these recipes taste even better when you know you have a safe ride home. Make sure you head over to my Instagram page for a chance to win a $50 Lyft gift card from No DUI Colorado.
